From Inpress magazine Tuesday 15th July 2008
"...On the other hand this can not be said for Sydney-based support act Dead Letter Chorus, as I'm sure they haven't drawn their crowd all the way from Sydney. Dead Letter Chorus have such a fresh sound. It's like a cloud of white snow came breezing through the quick capturing doors of the NoSo, releasing a pleasureable, addictive substance in the crowd. Listener's ears were attentive to the intricate folk that oscillated from the senses of the chilled, cheeky band.
DLC's five-piece set-up has excellent presence, with members interchanging instruments and charisma on stage. The music is full of dynamics, instrumentally and physically, and given that they play only a short set, there is much pressure to make these songs memorable. They perform two new numbers from their debut EP, Listen Carefully (We Shall Say This Only Once), along with a few earlier songs, showing a different side to their musical abilities, with blissful harmonies and epic trails - all in the space of 30 minutes.
Lead singers Cameron Potts and Gabrielle Huber have impressive fell in the way they wrap themselves around their lyrics with vocal harmonies accompanying them from all band members. A superb warm up to the night..."

Dead Letter Chorus – www.myspace.com/deadletterchorus
After a first year together that most bands dream about, including national tours and supports with Hawksley Workman, Andrew Bird, The Gin Club, Kate Miller-Heidke, Clare Bowditch and Whitley to name but a few, and work on the festival circuit including a headlining slot at last year's Newtown Festival, The Band have commenced work on their debut album. This is a process which has seen them build their own studio and refine over 20 songs for what will be a hotly anticipated release. Be sure to catch them pre-viewing their new material over July.
Wagons – www.myspace.com/wagonsmusic
Having released their latest record The Curse of Lightning (Spunk!/EMI) to rave reviews late last year, Wagons have been busy travelling the country in 2008 with the likes of Okkervil River, Dave and Pete (Dallas Crane), John Hiatt and M. Ward. They have also completed two well-received headline tours of their own. A run of shows with Dave Graney is also slated to begin in August. The road-hardened Wagons are ready and raring to hit the stage once again and are in top form playing tunes form their new release as well as beginning to preview tracks from an upcoming release.
Ned Collette Band - www.myspace.com/nedcollette
Ned Collette Band is the one year old amplified project for that singer/songwriter from Melbourne . They will be playing mostly new material on this tour, previewing Ned's third album but their first as a whole band. They have toured up and down and around Australia , played Meredith and Queenscliff festivals, as well as various performances on radio and TV. Their new material swings wildly from the raw and loud to the minute and silent, focused always around Ned's lyrical flights. Last year Ned toured Europe and the States, and the band plans to head back over later in 2008.

Recorded with the fantastical Wagons and the super-sexy Ned Collette, from Melbourne...we are happy to finally release it to the world... We were more than excited to collaborate with these artists and stamp our mark on this great tune.
Originally recorded by the great Australian band The Church..it was quite big in the 80's
This is the first thing we have recorded at our studio and couldn't be happier with the outcome.
We hope you enjoy The Unguarded Moment....

Ticket Sales and Info for The Vanguard - Sat 31st May
If you had have mentioned Dead Letter Chorus, Des Miller and Chad Mason in a sentence together 18 months ago it would be hard to comprehend that these would become three acts on the forefront of Sydney’s live music scene. However, due to Dead Letter Chorus’ hard-working, ever impressive songwriting and live presence, Des Miller’s critically acclaimed debut album "On The Surface Of Solitude" and Chad Mason’s flawless vocals and live delivery, it is no surprise that these artists are turning heads at every opportunity.
In what can only be described as a truly amazing line-up, the three will join forces for one night only at The Vanguard in Newtown, Saturday 31st May. This is THE night to catch the future of Australian music as we know it with Dead Letter Chorus previewing work from their much anticipated debut album, Miller coming off the back of endless glowing reviews, and Mason returning from a national tour with Wagons and running hot from a successful stint at the prestigious SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
Hurry to get your tickets as there are only a few dinner bookings still available.
